Event summary

The general conference will attract a worldwide audience given the importance of Peter F. Drucker for modern management. It will be targeted to broaden the awareness of the Viennese and European roots of Peter Drucker. It will create a common platform for a dialogue between managers, Business School and University professors, economists, consultants and other interested parties to discuss the future of management in the light of Peter Drucker’s work.

In the spirit of Peter Drucker the Conference will place the emphasis on the total societal and cultural context in which management should be seen. It will integrate elements such as the intellectual currents of the Fin de Siècle Vienna, the humanistic thread in Peter Drucker’s thinking, the holistic view on management and the importance of Peter Drucker’s work for future generations.
The visionary elements of Peter Drucker’s thinking will get particular focus at the conference – his thinking on Innovation and Entrepreneurship and his ground-breaking work on the importance of knowledge work and the knowledge worker for the 21st Century.

This is not another management conference – it marks the start of a journey where managers (profit and non-profit), academics, entrepreneurs, public sector representatives and other key stakeholders will participate in a collaborative and co-creative process over the next years, which will be facilitated by the Peter Drucker Society of Austria.
